“Two revolutions and Tibetan resilience”                                                                                                             -Som                               (Culture revolution and Tibetan peace revolution 2008) My grandmother's untold story of the Cultural Revolution in Tibet was shocking, extreme, and unbearable. She narrated her tragic story with tears in her eyes and a pale facial expression. She had experienced a real hell on earth and never saw any ray of hope in her future life at that time. The revolution was generally considered to have begun in China around 1966 by Mao Zedong. However, the faint climate of the Cultural Revolution existed since 1959 when the People's Republic of China completely occupied Tibet and carried out a series of repressions and violent destructions in Tibet. During the ten-year Cultural Revolution in Tibet from 1966 to 1976, in the name of removing four old obstacles, “old thinking, old culture, old tradition

G20’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Xi Jinping, and His Holiness the Dalai Lama

-An appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi

The 2023 India’s G20, New Delhi summit presidency would guide the framework under the theme of “One Earth, One Family, One Future” which means “The World is One Family”. Essentially, the theme affirms the value of all life, even deeper consideration of microorganisms at a wider scale, and their interconnectedness to the universe. The motto itself gives me great hope to upload the most prominent intermediate involvement in the ongoing conflict between China and Tibet, the Shri Narendra Modi. It’s the ideal time for him to raise his words for peace and tranquility to high Asia. Prime Minister Shri Modi can be the one and only intermediator who has been actively engaged in facilitating negotiations and promoting dialogue between President Xi and His Holiness the Dalai lama, at least for a few hours during or mid of this G20’s summit, where New Delhi is just few hundred kilometers from Dharamsala, His Holiness the Dalai Lama resides. If you are really affirming the motto, you should take responsibility for your actions. It's time to validate the actions of Shri Modi if he really means the G20 motto under the theme of One Family.

Tibet's problem is China's problem and Asia's problem. Which is directly connected to the other six continents as one big family; therefore, it must be a problem with global repercussions. The story of Tibet and its severe plight is now well-known across the people of the world. However, many world governments, are keen for their billion-plus business with China and ignoring the true meaning of ethics. World pretends Tibet is an internal matter and so does not speak up officially, though they may deplore China's human rights violations in general over the last many decades. Now it's time to change the conspiracy and display global ethics that have real meaning. Of course, it's high time for Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make peace history to the world by providing the best bridgework between President Xi and Dalai Lama during this G20 summit in India, at New Delhi.

On the other hand, His Holiness the Dalai Lama has described himself as a “Son of India” always being praised and promoting the rich culture of India to the rest of the world in his entire life, which even a native citizen can’t contribute to the home country. He is the true symbol of a peace icon in this twenty-first century, who is promoting peace and equality to the rest of the world by tracing the footprint of Mahatma Gandhi. India truly needs to assert the importance of Tibet and His Holiness the Dalai Lama at this very urgent time when Tibet needs you. He is no less than a national asset for India and to the rest of the world including China himself. It’s been very clear to His Holiness the Dalai Lama; has willing to go back to his home and engage in talks with President Xi as he has been addressed on many occasions. Therefore, it's prime time for Shri Modi and G20 to elaborate its stance on the conflict and give a basic ground to proposing farmwork for a political settlement between two leaders, His Holiness the Dalai Lama and President Xi without any pre-conditions.

His Holiness is always willing and welcoming to engage in talks with China regarding the Tibetan issue and expresses openness to both official and unofficial dialogue with Chinese leaders and authorities.  It's the right time for Prime Minister Narendra Modi to provide this table talk to resolve one of the most critical issues of Asia and must have called for the immediate and safe return of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to his rightful homeland.

In fact, in order to deal with the Tibetan problem, Xi must have a dialogue with His Holiness the Dalai Lama, and Modi is the most appropriate intermediator who can serve this playground at the right time. If Prime Minister Modi can help to provide this dialogue ground which hopefully concretes a peaceful resolve the issue of Tibet and bring about stability and co-existence between the Tibetan and Chinese peoples based on equality and equal footing.

The possible outcome from these three leader’s meetings and its consequences.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been doing a great job in terms of his administration in the last more than seven years. He is a great leader to engage the most sensitive issues in India like demonetization, to reduce the use of illicit and counterfeit cash to fund illegal activities and terrorism. He also prides himself on toughness in matters of national security, after dozens of Indian soldiers were killed in an attack last year by a terrorist group based in Pakistan, the government launched a retaliatory cross-border airstrike which made millions of Indian hearts in pride. Of course, he is always logical enough to solve the sensitive issues in Jammu and Kashmir now and then. Shri Narendra Modi has numerous missions with proper visions starting from the Swachh Bharat mission to chandrayaan-3 space mission, which holds millions of Indian hearts in pride again and again.

Now, it’s time for Shri Modi and the Indian Government to re-policy on Tibetan issues and recognize Tibet’s historical status as an independent nation. Tibet is an occupied country, and the PRC does not possess sovereignty over it. This calls for an immediate course correction to bring government policies in compliance with international law and make it a core issue in its bilateral relation with China, rather than fevering the Tibetan issue only when they see some temporary political interest, especially during border crises.

It’s clear to the Indian Government that “Tibet’s Independence is India’s Security” if we crawl a little back to history, some may be pleased that the loss of Tibet's independence was the failure of British-India diplomacy, then why is the Modi government not speaking on Tibet at this critical time? To support the Tibet issue is not merely to protect India’s border issue, but also speaks to the moral ethics against peace and truth to the rest of the world. India is the primary litmus paper to tell the true story of Tibet and its plight to the rest of the world officially. Our inimitable long relationship bond is back to about thousands of years. I am pretty sure that the eyes of the whole world are on India to speak openly and officially on Tibet and its real history status, not by only occasional words when border issues arise.

So, it's Shri Narendra Modi who can lead India as an exemplary moral and ethical ground to light the peace candle to high Asia during his presidency. I think that Shri Narendra Modi is the most deserving candidate and nominated himself to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his part in defusing a big Asian problem by serving as an intermediate at the right time between the two most important leaders, the Dalai Lama, and President Xi Jinping.

“Seeking truth from facts” in this critical crisis between Tibet and China, His Holiness the Dalai Lama and President Xi are the right people, who could find a compact solution for the problem regardless of any other countries and supporters around the world. President Xi is the most powerful and super head of China. President Xi Jinping can take this amazing opportunity and make a new history for the great Asia and the world at large. He can stand as an example of a truly ethical leader that will be a moral victory for China since CCP policies are heavily criticized by the world for the past many decades. Xi is the right leader who could build the true image of China in front of the world's people. So that, the whole world will voluntarily accept his good image and reconsider the great power of China once again.

For China, unlike what China has been going through the old, outdated track and always tried to prove, promote and propagate themselves in front of the media taking in guilt for their unjustified policies and control over the outbreak issues. I'm sure that there will be no reasons to prove and propagate, that good deeds will spontaneously spread into the air if Xi will take the right action on Tibet.

Till now, Chinese leaders perceive the Dalai Lama as their enemy, disgracing themselves by pouring mad claims on possibly the most admired person on the planet. They wrongly assume that the death of the Dalai Lama will be the end of their problem rather than the start of the actual problem indeed! Chinese leaders failed to realize that the Dalai Lama is an enormous asset for China. Instead, they just sour China's relations with the world by criticizing the world's most trusted person. Therefore, it will be a historical mark in China, if President Xi could recognize the true value of His Holiness the Dalai Lama as a win-win solution for both Tibet and China.

President Xi himself will automatically be recognized as a supreme leader among leaders of China, including 'Mao' and 'Deng'. If he does away with the illusion of awaiting the Dalai Lama's death as an end to the Tibetan problem, rather than begin to take this amazing opportunity and start to talk with His Holiness at the right time. I think that he might also be a well-deserving candidate to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his part in defusing a big Asian problem by considering the value of peace and dialogue.

On the other hand, the Dalai Lama is very much the keystone for this diplomatic effort, having received the Nobel Peace Prize, and the Congressional Gold Medal of Honor from the US Congress and the President being most humble and down to earth, without any doubt, the Dalai Lama is the precious key to dissolve the China-Tibet conflict at right time.

For the world, he could prove the outcome of his sincere dedication and strong work commitment towards the power of peace and the principles of nonviolence, which he has been working on so far in his entire lifetime. It would be a great and powerful message to the world indeed, “Pen is mightier than sword” and “Peace is better than war.” In short, he could prove that 'War creates the problem and peace closes the problem'.

Literally, he could also inspire the whole world through his tireless patience and practical results of peace and non-violence struggles in the 21st century. His Holiness the Dalai Lama can serve as a goodwill ambassador and special envoy of China if he could go back to his homeland at the right time. He can start freely teaching and attending meetings with other Buddhist leaders and can contribute to the rebirth of Chinese Buddhism once again.

He also can help to create better unity and harmony among other minorities. The Dalai Lama can also help to proclaim his goal that Tibet officially become part of China and calls for Tibetans to agree the vote and join PRC equally. He can also help to encourage Uighurs, Mongols, Manchus, and Taiwanese to voluntarily join the union as well. Of course, he can help to build goodwill and friendliness with neighboring countries, especially India, Mongolia, Japan and Russia, and so on.  I'm sure that His Holiness the Dalai Lama will become a great asset to China from any kind of perspective.

For Tibetans, the return of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to his home country after many decades in a foreign land is the Tibetan's ultimate dream and aspiration. Tibetans inside and outside Tibet will recognize this joyful occasion of our reunion and Tibet shall become a nation made up of all its three traditional regions of Tibet and shall be a nation based on the principle of freedom and democracy. Tibet shall be a zone of peace where there shall be all fundamental human rights and enjoy the policy based on “Peace and Harmony” under the People's Republic of China, If the Tibet issue will be solved within the life period of his holiness The Dalai Lama.
